He received it last year as some have noted. I wonder if its a prototype from the Ibanez Guitar Development Center for the new J-line, because of the way its fully blackened out.
After a good solid year with the two to compare. I would say I like the 2027 as I prefer the neck and small appointments such as the volute, ebony board and absence of middle pickup. They are both superb though and I use them both at shows with no preference.
This is the hunt I had for a while in the UK, with the only option being some ltds such as the Mh417, but they were TOM bridges.
I ended up with an RG1077XL and more recently a 2027XL, to which I blocked both of the teens with a tremelno. However this year though we've been blessed with the...
Nice dude! I've been considering getting a second too as I prefer it over my 1077. Here's hoping ibanez release another finish or another limited run pops up again
I saw him with a Ken Susi signature in a few pictures before ESP made it official, so I imagine that's what you saw. It was still quite a surprise when he made that shift though!
As others have mentioned for price and sheer reliability you can't go wrong with a Boss tuner. I've tried other brands but they've all packed up after excessive shows. The other guitarist in my band has a TU2 that's nearly 20 years old and works fine still
Happy NGD dude. The 1077 is an amazing model! If yours plays like mine then you will be very happy.
I'm not sure why some can see the photos and others can't, they are hosted on imgur and apparently you can see them through hitting rey though.
Sure thing! I'll post some comparison photos to, but unfortunately they will only be with my phone camera so I hope that you can get a good idea of them. To the untrained eye the ebony looks like another rosewood board and it certainly feels like one compared to every other ebony boarded guitar...
Nothing at all! The build quality is flawless by what I can tell, everything is as it should be. Its pretty awesome.
I've been regularly checking the main UK dealers and GAK had one come in. Bax Shop also had one available last I checked.
I purchased an identical case from a friend for my 1077,who got his with a RG852 so I guess its being used for their 27' scale instruments.
No it's darker, almost with a purple hue.
