The Juggler by Anthem cover. Testing my Positive Grid Bias amp with my new kit flying V guitar, with D Activators https://soundcloud.com/crash49/juggler-bias
The vintage ones can do some metal but they can also do blues, jazz, country, rock and etc going back to the days of your granddaddy Conversely, the "contemporary" ones only go back to the 80's sound. So no Ted Nugent and Blue Oyster Cult for you.
The Custom is great. It is articulate and versatile. Loud, quiet, classic, tight. You can do alt, blues, rawk, metal and etc. It has that 80's on steroids sound. Alas, I like the EMG sounds so I'm switching to D Activators on my new guitar. My older guitar will keep the Custom.
I'm not sure about extended range tones or modern metal - I just know how it is on my 6 string. Unfortunately I haven't done it tapped either. Its on my Epiphone Les Paul (lightweight Mahogany). here is an SH-14 in the Epiphone in a Jim Root https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ki5D1V8c2uU
I have an Orange Jim Root and the Orange 112. So I have the mini-me version of your Rockverb rig. I would love to have that! I found the Distortion too honky in the mids. Cleans are really nice though. I like the Custom5 SH-14 on this amp for rock to hard rock metal.
I've tried distortion, alnico2pro, custom5, and screaming demon. The distortion was okay. The decent one was Pearly Gates. Pearly gates bridge in the neck actually. But I settled on dimarzios
Just an update. so i tried it. I mean I've done it before but not with extended range guitar. I have my downtuned Tele, a metal distortion pedal (biyang metal-end) and then my Ampeg solid state 20 watt practice amp. It was deep and powerful for the low notes! Awesome. The high notes and mid...
You know how people say you shouldn't play your bass guitar on a guitar amp (is true?)- well these downtuned guitars are really bassy - would it damage your guitar amp the same way? I'm going to try to play my drop A tuned Tele on my practice bass amp tonight. :shred:
1984 Kawai solidbody electric, shown here few years ago. I later changed to Screaming demon pickups. And Guitar Center Concord stole the coil split push button.
I'm joining the club. I got a used Schecter 6 string 26.5 scale baritone coming in. After a bit of research I've identified it as a 2003 Schecter C1EX. Mahogany, maple set neck with rosewood, two duncan designed pups, through body - stop tail bridge Not much on the internet about this. Here...
