I believe it depends on the country/marked that your're looking at.
To me it appears that in the US the S14 240s are regarded as shit boxes that often times end up as cheap drift cars.
Seeing so many of them with mismatched body panels, dented and with horrible diy paint jobs makes me think so...
You could easily do it yourself.
Take a couple of your favorite pickups, put them in the exact same guitar and take the EQ curve each time (of course always play the same riff).
When you're done, put one of them in for good and create IRs that represent the difference between the pickup you...
Prior to a reamping session I once tried a couple of different volume settings in order to figure out the best one. It ranged from rather quiet and neighbor-friendly to tearing-down-the-fucking-building-loud.
6505 through mesa 4x12
Turns out that it didn't affect the recorded tone at all.
The...
And to add to that...since the question was which one would give the better tone...the answer is that the wattage of the cab doesn't matter in terms of tone (the reason is explained above)
As long as you don't overload it of course.
How is this misinformation?
It's just how it is.
This is actual experience...
I pick up my guitar that hasn't been tuned for months.
Grab a chord and strum it...all in tune.
Then I put on a new set of stings, slightly different gauges than before. Leave the nut completely untouched.
I retune...
Neither am I a touring musician nor is my guitar run over by a train but I still love the advantages of the evertune.
Sounds crazy I know.
I think that the reason so many guitar players do not see any benefits of the evertune is that this bridge really doesn't fit their needs. For example for...
Not only on the 12th fret.
My Evertune guitar is the only guitar I ever had that hits each note dead center on every single fret.
With other bridges you have to quote unquote "file that nut dead-fucking-nuts perfect"
In my case: Once or twice a year maybe.
The reason is that I don't need to be...
I've seen it so many times where a guitarist played a horribly out of tune sounding guitar just because of incorrectly filed nuts.
Life could have been so much easier for these guys.
Completely unrelated to Diablo but this last video reminded me of why I never play games online.
There's so much that just kills the immersion of a game.
Like the guys doing these silly spin moves in the beginning.
And then the names above each player.
Bad enough that the names show up in the...
The incredebly good intonation is one of the reasons I prefer the Evertune over other bridges.
With regular bridges you have to file the nut very carefully when increasing the string gauge.
At least when good intonaton matters to you.
(and on top of that: going back to much lighter strings is...
I loved Diablo I back then. It was very atmospheric, especially because of the fantastic soundtrack.
Diablo II was probably as good as Diablo I if not even better. But since I wasn't playing video games that much anymore, I never got so addicted like I have been to Diablo I.
I never cared for...
When I got my first evertune guitar, I thought I don't want any other bridge ever again.
This feeling lasted for more than a year or so.
Now that I've played it for a couple of years, I think it is still the best bridge I've ever played. But I will allow myself to buy guitars with other bridges...
What is your preferred string tension?
I am a 12 lbs guy and I play a .64 for the lowest string on my 30" in low drop D tuning.
I am happy with it but it might be too loose for others.
Aw come on.
That's just your personal preference
Don't make it a general rule.
I for one grew up with 80s metal, loved it back then, but now I am so fed up with this stuff and I am so glad that metal has evolved.
I you really try, you will get to know a lot of unique, talented and creative...
Alright guys thanks for the advice.
I tried some of the stuff a few minutes ago and I am almost there.
And I think most of your tips where pretty spot on.
A massive 10 dB bell at 2 kHz in front of the amp(sim) did the trick.
And the some post eq moves to tame the resulting mid bump. Plus a low...
While I think that the tubescreamer is not the solution (I've been using tubescreamers since forever) the EQ pedal might be worth a try.
I remember doing that a while back when I (successfully) tried to recreate the guitar tone of the latest Emmure album.
Now that you mention it I see...
