Ibanez S5521q Prestige. Anyone Played This?

I actually have this guitar, it is fantastic. The S Series prestiges are nice. I like it because it is fixed bridge and doesn't have the middle pick up. One thing I noticed is the nut spacing on these is 43mm, same as a trem equipped model, so I use F spaced pickups in mine, as does Ibanez when...

    Another pickup recommendation thread!

D Activator 7. I have it paired with the Liquifier neck in my Ibanez 752fx and it has bite and aggressiveness. Sounds great in Basswood. I also play through the 6505 MH.

    Dimarzio Tone Zone Loud Humming

This is what he said that made me think that we have had similar experiences with this pickup. I use a lot of gain, and have the treble up on my amp. When I reduce these, the hum drops about 90%. Its not like the hum is so loud it is unplayable, it hums when I am not playing, and like the OP, it...

    Dimarzio Tone Zone Loud Humming

I actually rewired mine with new cts pots and made sure all the grounds went to one location, mine still hums.

    Dimarzio Tone Zone Loud Humming

I got no answer about 6 months ago when I asked the same question, so I decided to try to read up on it. I bought the Ibanez prestige 655m with the Tone zone/air Norton/true velvet combo, mine did the same thing, loud hum under high gain, got louder toward the amp. What I read on the dimarzio...

Trouble finding pickguard for my 87' Ibanez RG550

Check out Perleguitars on ebay, they have them for the 550, they have a printable template so you can see if the holes line up before you buy it, they have a decent return policy as well. I have bought several guards from them and they go from about 30-50 dollars depending on what type you get...

    Hum/single/Hum wiring question

Is it possible to wire a 2 humbuckers and one single to a regular 3 way switch? I have an Ibanez with two humbuckers and a middle single coil and find the split positions useless, I would like to have it where it goes bridge only, middle only, then neck. I was thinking instead of jumpering the...

    Pickguard advice

7 dying trees, that sounds like a plan, i was thinking some sheilding and running a ground wire. I have only had this guitar about a week, so the pickups could have had this hum with the other pickguard and i had my decimator on and didnt notice it.

    Pickguard advice

nobody knows? I put the pick guard on and I am getting some hum when plugged in, it seems to change when I move the guitar, the new pick guard did not have any shielding tape on the back like the plastic factory one, if anyone has any ideas that would be appreciated! the factory one was...

    Pickguard advice

I want to replace my pickguard on my Ibanez rg655 with either a new plastic one or a metal diamondplate one, my question is if I get the diamondplate, will i need to leave the ground wires that go from each pot off to avoid ground loops? Also, does anyone know how are the mirrored pickguards at...

Thrash band using Suhr and PRS!?

These guys are friends of mine and the front man Aaron uses that PRS and that happens to be his only guitar. People buy loads of expensive gear and guitars, but are not where these guys are at.....but give the album a listen, these guys are really pretty good, and this is their major label...

PUs suggestions for a Schecter SLS C7

you should try it as it comes, I have this guitar and I think the full shred 7 is an awesome pickup, it is probably the best sounding guitar I have. Mine has the Jazz 7 in the neck, so I can get decent cleans and lead sound.

Jackson dka7 or Ibanez prestige rg752fx

I just recently got the 752fx, it is very nice, the pickups not so much. The Jackson has distortion 7's, that is a plus, but I went with the Ibanez because I didn't want to take a chance on the quality and I am glad I did, it was perfect when I got it. I also have a Schecter sls c-7, but I had...
