A guy on the ERGnerds facebook group recently posted about the ibanez 8 string classical. The scale length is apparently not as much of an issue on the classical guitars as it is a 25.4" scale as another member was able to tune to a low f# without much issue.
Hey all, its come time to look into a new sixer for myself and after going headless with my eight I'm thinking about just eliminating headstock's all together. Though a tremelo is something I'd like to have on a six string.
Currently looking into an HH2 for reasons but I have a question...
I love my rg8 and the stock pickups aren't horrible. And like others have said, they're really customizable if you like it. I have absolutely tiny hands and the neck is perfect for me. My neko of8 has a thicker neck and its not too much of an issue for me.
Thanks man!
Haven't had any issues with it yet, I'm not a frantic strummer though so you could put a switch just below the pickups and I wouldn't notice.
End cost came out to around 1600usd. Almost as much as an OS but I was able to build it with the pickups and wiring I wanted to use. Not to mention its aesthetically more pleasing to my eye that a boden OS.
When I was putting pickups in my last 8 it was between the Pegasus/Sentient combo, a set of Ionizers or BKP Jugs. I went with the Pegasus and sentient and I'm not looking back. I feel like the pegasus could be a little hotter but I don't think you'll have an issue with that. They split very...
How does one go about this? I've read a lot of conflicting information with no examples online that I can find. Would anyone care to enlighten me? Pictures would be wonderful!
Your best option would be to go to a well regarded luthier at an instrument store nearby and talk to them. There really aren't any available on the market, I've looked.
I went with the push push pot by WD music. I'm hoping it works well because I like the idea of push push instead of push pull lol.
If you want to know how it works I'll be posting a NGD when my Neko OF8 is finished.
I'll have to look into carvins components and see what I can find haha.
I've been reading into tapers, what do you guys recommend? I get the basic theory I just don't know what is generally best in a guitar.
I'm not worried about parts that fit, I can always file or modify slightly if something isn't the right size. I'm also smart enough to make measurements first haha. I've been recommended Dimarzio and CTS components a lot so those look like the best bet.
Anyone have experience with this? * WD...
Wiring up a guitar for the first time. I'm looking at 2 humbuckers, a three way switch, push pull/push push volume pot and possibly a phase selector switch. Are there certain brands or models to look out for? I know you use 500k pots for humbucker typically. I just dont know the difference...
Did the cavity shielding today. Don't have time to get pictures up on my computer but I put them on facebook from my phone.... so if you can copy and paste a link here you go...
