I believe the 7421s were the only ones with a bubinga stripe, but also can be found with the one piece maple 7621 neck. Never seen a 7621 with a bubinga striped neck, though.

I had the tone knobs removed from both of my guitars, and replaced with the volume. No useless tone knob, no volume knob right up by the strings.

Mainly a rhythm player; I like to do leads for songs and dabble in solos, but more of the "feel" type, like an Adam Jones solo, rather than shredding. The RG is probably my favorite guitar, not only is the design just kickass, but no one but Ibanez makes production guitars with such thin necks...

Well worth it, I paid the same for mine and it's a great guitar.

I got a 7421 with the UV neck off ebay for $300; a little beat up, but worth ten of my 7321s. Most likely you could find one for even cheaper on this site. You may be thinking of the 7420 or 7620, which usually go for a bit more because of the trems.

Ibanez's quality control now (at least for the Indonesian models) is shit. I've owned two brand new rg7321s, each bought two years apart, and right out of the box they had uneven frets, HORRIBLE buzz even on high action, and the first one had a warped neck. I gave the 7321 a second try...

Some 7421s have the original wizard 7 neck (one piece maple 7621 or UV neck) and most produced after 2000 have the neck with a bubinga stripe down the middle, which is slightly thicker. I have one just like yours, the neck rules.
