Ibanez RG 7620, Why so much love?

I recently re-acquired a 7620 for pretty cheap, and couldn't be happier with it. Not much to add to what's already been said, it's a fantastic guitar. I keep trying other 7s in this price range, new or used, and nothing compares in my opinion. Been playing a 7621 and a 7421 (also with a solid...

NGD Ibanez RG7421XL and Ibanez RG7620

Thanks! I really like the 27" scale on the XL. The neck profiles are similar, but the XL actually feels a bit thinner overall to me.

NGD Ibanez RG7421XL and Ibanez RG7620

Hello all! It's been about four years since I got a new guitar, and then these two beauties popped up at the same time and same price ($280 shipped each) on ebay last week, and I just couldn't resist! Both are completely stock and the XL is like new; barely played with original paperwork and...

Need help ID'ing an Ibby 7

I believe the 7421s were the only ones with a bubinga stripe, but also can be found with the one piece maple 7621 neck. Never seen a 7621 with a bubinga striped neck, though.

    Guitar Tone Knobs

I had the tone knobs removed from both of my guitars, and replaced with the volume. No useless tone knob, no volume knob right up by the strings.

The Two types of 7 string players

Mainly a rhythm player; I like to do leads for songs and dabble in solos, but more of the "feel" type, like an Adam Jones solo, rather than shredding. The RG is probably my favorite guitar, not only is the design just kickass, but no one but Ibanez makes production guitars with such thin necks...

    RG7421 for $300, worth it?

Well worth it, I paid the same for mine and it's a great guitar.

Quality Difference of Rg7321 vs Schecter Omen Extreme?

I got a 7421 with the UV neck off ebay for $300; a little beat up, but worth ten of my 7321s. Most likely you could find one for even cheaper on this site. You may be thinking of the 7420 or 7620, which usually go for a bit more because of the trems.

    RGA7 is terrible... Or?

Ibanez's quality control now (at least for the Indonesian models) is shit. I've owned two brand new rg7321s, each bought two years apart, and right out of the box they had uneven frets, HORRIBLE buzz even on high action, and the first one had a warped neck. I gave the 7321 a second try...

Who inspired you to play seven?

Meshuggah and Jesu. :metal: I equally liked the enormous, intense rhythms of Meshuggah and the droning sound waves of Jesu. And only now, years after picking up a seven, am I starting to realize the incredible potential the low B (or A, in my case) affords you in terms of music theory and...

    RG7621 for Agile 8

Some 7421s have the original wizard 7 neck (one piece maple 7621 or UV neck) and most produced after 2000 have the neck with a bubinga stripe down the middle, which is slightly thicker. I have one just like yours, the neck rules.

It is awesome, been playing guitar non-stop since I got it. With the warpig it sounds amazing! I'm sick of trems myself, love the flexibility and simplicity of a fixed bridge. The bridge on the 7421 kicks ass, very very solid, incredible sustain, you're gonna like it. It makes the 7321's...
