    Solar Guitars by Ola Englund

I was about to argue that on Explorer/X shapes fitting those last two frets always tends to look a little weird. But that's when an existing ML or Explorer shape has to be adjusted to it. Since these were made from scratch they probably could have shifted the bridge and neck back to fit 24. Like...

My European X order was cancelled because I guess their cart let someone else buy it at the same time as me, and that person must have figured out the glitchy checkout faster than me. Now mine isn't shipping until March. I'm jealous of the people that got them faster. Actually, having just set...

    The 7 strings are 25.5, the 6s are 24.75.

Except I did buy one, and still agree that if the one I liked was sold out from under me I probably wouldn’t have bought one of the others.

Yup. And it shows the serial number. So I was kind of tempted to buy serial number 1 but then I didn't like the top very much. And there was a mistake where there were 2 tops I really liked, but I realized they were the same photos for both (probably a mix up when uploading them). Luckily I...

    Solar Guitars by Ola Englund

I picked what I think was the one really great top out of the first 10. I wanted something Dimebag-y, the used Dean and Washburn market is chaotic, and the RR inspired lower half appeals to me as a fan of offset Vs. So basically I took a chance because it appealed to me in a way not many other...

Ordered one of the European models 🙃

6 string pickup shootout. No bull, no frills.

They're pretty tight, the low end response feels a lot like there's already an overdrive on tightening up the playing. And good clarity with a bit of an upper-mid grind.

Lundgren Pickups Now Available @ The Axe Palace

Sorry for the bump, but @zimbloth you seem to be one of the only people with experience with The One pickups. I have a black a Framus Panthera Supreme from axe palace where you guys installed BKP Riff Raff pickups. Despite being mahogany body and set neck (though a maple cap and ebony...

Fluence Keith Merrow set - is it just me?

As a counterargument, I hear you. If you're still in a free return window and think you might like something else more then why not? I just got an Original KM7, and between the Swamp Ash Body, the Nazgul, the extended scale length, and the shifted bridge position I'm finding the tone a little...

    New Seymour Duncan Jupiter Pickup

I ended up lending the guitar with them in it to a friend before pandemic related things locked everything down, so I've been without it since shortly after installing them. He's liking them though.

New guitar, new bone nut, tuning issues

Thicker strings can sound dead, the plain .020 that comes standard on 12-54 sets could just sound lifeless to you, a wound g string could work better. Other questions are: Have you used this gauge on other guitars before and had different results? Is there a chance the string in that pack was...

    New Seymour Duncan Jupiter Pickup

I put a set in my Jackson RR1 recently. I haven't put it solidly through it's paces yet, but the bridge offers a lot of clarity, some mid focus, but still some tight depth. The Neck doesn't sound as good as the pickup it replaced (The Jackson J-80 it came stock with), but that neck pickup was a...

    Bare Knuckle Cold Sweat

As @Alex79 says above it depends a lot on the model. I've got an Edwards Eclipse and an LTD EC-1000ET both with full maple caps (though I think the actual quilt is just a venreer on at least the LTD). But that EC-1000 model is an outlier in that it specifically calls out a maple cap on the body...

Help with wiring (Series-Parallel- PARTIAL Coil Split North) On On On

My guess from the description is rather than wiring one coil directly to group, it wires one coil through a cap to ground so that only part of it is removed from the circuit. That way instead of removing the entire coil it only removes the higher or lower frequency content, giving a coil split...

6 string pickup shootout. No bull, no frills.

If it’s the traditional dimebag signature set, the “neck” pickup is a sd ‘59 bridge. You could give that a go while you already have it in hand. Mark Morton put 59s in his signature guitars until he created the dominions. They’re pretty vintage output thought.

    New Seymour Duncan Jupiter Pickup

I just installed a set of the 6s in a my Jackson RR1 over the long weekend. Definitely a bit of mid grind. I also got a set of Black Winters that just arrived, and a Duncan Liberator. And I'll try and get some comparisons and thoughts between them and other pickups I have on hand (EMG 81, EMG...

    New Seymour Duncan Jupiter Pickup

One thing to keep in mind is that he likely dialed one tone to try and suit both those pickups. Given they're voiced so differently, the dimebucker is probably more scooped than it would be dialing alone, and the Jupiter is possibly more mid-forward than it would be dialed alone.

    Quiet replacements for EMG 57/66

I'd also take a look for any obvious grounding issues in the wiring just in case there's something simple causing it.
