    The problem with that is those amps are made in China (maybe Mexico for the EVH) and Mesa is made in the USA so unless Mesa makes some Chinese amps then it sounds unlikely to have below 2k Mesa amps. Also Gibson owns them now, and Gibson deasn't seem to want their name synonyms with budget gear...

    I don't have a Kraken but I do use clean channels on amps and view them as a pretty important feature for me. I use the gain channels a lot more but I love some good clean tones with a few good fx too. I know a lot of/most metal players seem fine with only a gain channel but I'm not one of them...
