@narad Amish Wood Milk is good. I've used the Gerlitz Smudge Off and Guitar honey on a plain walnut/black limba custom I had once. Even though you shouldn't do that. I put the guitar honey down first and wiped it clean and dry with micro fiber, then did the smudge off and it looked better and...
That's what I was thinking too. Perhaps though a combination of things like less low end on the amp's preamp eq, an eq in the loop, boost pedal etc like people are saying.
- I wonder if changing the speakers from say 8 to 16 ohms while still using 8 ohms setting might actually do it between amp...
Never made these but I'd stick with real heads if at all possible just because. I'd think the tension would end up tearing through the cardboard though, maybe why they use tape I'd guess.
- Perhaps if mounting hardware use some reinforcment plates made of wood or some ferrules or something so...
I don't know how it's done but it's certainly possible. Not to bring up a touchy subject but Ed Roman did ton's of retops on Lp's and other stuff. Though he wasn't a popular guy their luthiers did excellent work. Not sure if they still do this stuff or not but his old site still has many...
I've tried the 707, blackout soapbars, and 60-7 in my rg style 7 custom, a couple 7620's, 707's in a 2027xvv as well as the blackout normal style in a 7620. What type string gauges, action and RGA7 is going to matter a bit. For sure though 707's will address the neck concern of too bright but...
It makes a difference but if it's noticable or not just depends. Usually taking of the grill is the best option, or making it just not touch it. I think this is why so many cab's have torn grill's in that area. - Usually with a sm57 just put it up there so it don't touch but is close as...
I use to always do this too. It works really nice with the Rotovibe for just a little bit slower yet still plenty fast speeed in toe position. It makes it better imo, but for people trying this be aware you don't want to stand on the heel position afte that as the pot can break easier, though...
Still using a Badhorsie 2 when I wah. It's just awesome. If I want a normal wah I like the standard Vox and 535q, but The Old schoodl Automajic's were cool but expensive and a bit unreliable ime.
For what OP wants with a Recto just turn down the bass for what you want, maybe check the preamp tubes and make sure there's actually strong 12ax7's in there. It will get tight. Put on silicon diodes too. You don't need a boost with a Recto unless you want 'that' sound. If you want that sound...
I use an NS-2 up front (no x-pattern), basically hit open low string and dial to the decay/release I want. On the back it's the Hush in a Replifex set about the same. This way the decay is there if I want it to ring out on a clean sustained note but if chuggin heavy stuff it don't gate as...
I found a wannabe version of it on dhgate for like $360 or something but ordering from there is to scary for me. lol. It just amazes me how all these guitars exists but basic versions of each tyupe are hard to come by. Like 7 string hollow bodys and acoustics etc. I hope it serves you well.
Wow, that's so clean. Does anyone know if there's ever been a reissue or similar model like this? I know about the Ibanez jazz 7 model also out of production, but I find it odd there's not more stock models like this. Nice Score !
I'm glad they didn't do anything stupid like start wearing masks and giving themselves dumb names like ' 1 of Locrian, b2 of Locrian, 3 of Locrian' lol. This stuff feels good and has a lot of that nice soft cozy feelings to me. Thanks for sharing.
With modern Daw's gain isn't much of an issue. Do what people like @Drew and others are saying here. The confusion comes from people thinking like their digital device is analog which it's not. The hottest level possible thing is from certain analog gear back in those days. With modern daw's...
hopefully not to confuse it more;
If you take F# minor and convert it to major (1) the 4 is now B, and it's also B from a parallel minor mode, or alternately, the minor of A major is F# from a parallel persepective. From a relative perspective if F# = the 6th (natural minor) then also A is the...
I loathe programming drums and stuff like that. I always like guitar but when it gets exhausting I change hats and re-learn theory stuff or read gear manuals, work on mixing techiniques, I've been writing a book for the last 30 years in spare time it not priority) ect. Most of that is really...
Yeah, He wanted it for $400. No $500 (which is what i offered him) is too low. It's no longer for sale. Glad I wasn't nice. I was really trying to do somethign nice for him too. I never was seling it. It's because it was him I was doing this and it felt like suck a wtf moment I got mad. Like...
lol. It's the why you mad thread. Actually, I forgot to use all CAPS too. haha. I just needed to vent.
- All I know is if a freind I've been chippin away at and buggin to buy his guitar finally caves and offers half price of current value, I'm not going to try to talk him down more, let alone...
