The Boss EQ-200 pedal works exceptionally well in the FX loop of the 5150IIIS 50. It can bring the overall volume down 15db which gives more play with the volume knobs and doesn't affect my tone at all. As mentioned above, even at a low volume on the post tubes, the amp sounds fantastic.

Would using an attenuator like the Boss Tube Amp Expander work better? I'm considering one of the TAEs to use with an incoming 5150iii 6L6S head but want to make sure it will do more than what I can do by adjusting the loop volume with an eq pedal.
