    Cali76 Compressor

I have used a lot of compressors including the V1/Compact bass version of this. It definitely is awesome, the V1 was very pokey and hifi sounding in the highs to me. This one is still present but smoother, A+

    Boss HM2/Clone Chainsaw Megathread

Dead thread but I’m a bassist with zero HM-2 xp and was looking for some opinions. I use a Darkglass Infinity but I find the drive I get is too pristine and polite for my tastes. My thinking was to start with an Angry Swede v2 as to my understanding its less different from the original than...

    Show Me Your Bass!

My favorite picture to date, I'm on the wait list to get this body redone for two small gripes but after that it will be literally perfect. This matte black bakelite guard is amazing and it plays like butter while sounding amazing. I'll have to come up with a name soon.

    Fortin Zuul Review (on bass)

Oh sweet, let me know if you have any success. I'll probably try out the EQ fed into the key input to make it more guitar like. Really I got this pedal for general use between rigs when I get a guitar again anyway and it does kill noise super cleanly so I'm impressed.

    Fortin Zuul Review (on bass)

It's in the normal mode, doubt it will make too much difference because running it at max setting already chops my notes when playing quietly and tapping which isn't ideal for always on. Won't close quick enough or give me an effect that effective muting technique wouldn't.

    Fortin Zuul Review (on bass)

Good idea, I have a TC integrated preamp clone I can try this with.

    Fortin Zuul Review (on bass)

yes, my rig using it looks like this Bass - splitter a - zuul key b - compressor - b7k - front of amp - zuul in the loop

    Fortin Zuul Review (on bass)

So I've had my Zuul for a few weeks because my rig is loud and I've had some problems with hissing in the past. Looks like this Dingwall Combustion in series - Darkglass Hyper Luminal (all buttons in) - Darkglass B7k - Genzler Magellan 800 cranked on the drive channel. I got it for two main...

Recommend me a mic for modern metal bass tone.

Hi man, thanks for the response. I was rewatching a Nolly mixing video last night and he mentioned that he usually goes with the MD421 on the impulse response he uses. I was also thinking of two mics myself. Blending in di seems very viable and probably the way to do it, mainly I'll have to see...

Recommend me a mic for modern metal bass tone.

Also price isn't a concern for the most part, willing to shell out for quality.

Recommend me a mic for modern metal bass tone.

Hi all, I know the general move for bass these days is to go DI and I've have plenty of success doing this with my pedal rig plus an ampeg cab sim. However I feel like I just cannot match the explosiveness of a my real 800 watt rig blowing air, part of that has to do with the live feeling of...

    N(RM)GD: The Holoflash 7620 (Mega 56K)

Another necrobump but the guy who refinished my bass does a holo crackle.

Dingwall Combustion 5, gonna spec it out with black hardware, matte black guard, FD3s and Darkglass pre when I get it back. Has a beautiful maple neck and board.

Jackson DKA7 Satin White mods to match Dingwall Combustion

Alright. I figured out my plan. I'm just gonna get a black strandberg boden 7 at some point and wait until they have gold hardware replacement as an option.

Jackson DKA7 Satin White mods to match Dingwall Combustion

Yeah, it has the planet waves locking tuners which look good in gold too, but it appears that getting my hands on a 7 string set would be a pain in the ass potentially. I saw a bridge that was gold but with some black accents that maybe would look good.

Jackson DKA7 Satin White mods to match Dingwall Combustion

Against gold hardware because I think it would look gaudy, I'm all for the gold pole pieces but I would probably just buy new pickups while I'm at it that would fit the look and to try. Open to suggestions. Thanks! Here is the guitar.

Jackson DKA7 Satin White mods to match Dingwall Combustion

Hey guys, so I have a Jackson DKA7 in the Satin White. I want it to match this Dingwall Combustion that I have done hardware mods and installed a custom pickguard on. I have ordered a gold kill switch replacement to get rid of the ugly red pimple but is there anything else I can do to make them...
