    PRS (SE) 2024

Don't know why I didn't think about the pick ups likely being the reason on the cost. Makes a lot more sense now. I'm with you though, a regular humbucker version would be NICE.

    PRS (SE) 2024

I'm with you. Wouldn't mind one for the soul purpose of doing some kind of super strat set up. Just don't know if they're worth 800 bucks.

the new Fishman Fluence Mick Thomson signature pickups

They sound very eh to me. But then again i've never particularly liked Mick or Jim's guitar tones. They fit Slipknot's music 100% just not a tone I personally like. I still think Fishman's best pick ups are the Willie Adlers.

    Your Top 3 Guitar Brands?

Brands I love 1. Schecter- I've never had a bad guitar of the few I've had from them. Great at any price range 2. PRS- Same reason as Schecter really. But just for a different feel 3. Jackson- The normal neck profile on most of the guitars is probably the best feeling neck profile on the market...

    Suggestions on best Guitar Plugins

Not tried any but I'd say Neural DSP is the way to go. Especially since soon you'll have the ability to take tones directly from plug ins and put them on the quad cortex (only if you have the newer X version plug ins though). So if you have a tone plug in that you just truly love, more than any...

What guitars would you consider to be the absolute best value for any price range?

PRS SE stuff. And I think just about anything Schecter has in the 800-1300 range can compete with anything based on my experiences.

Most influential Asian American metal musicians?

I'm buying new pickups - need some advice

EMG's in all honesty can do cleans, and even ambient spacey stuff just fine, folks just don't mess around with them that much. Also don't focus on the tonewoods. It's an electric guitar, so unless one was mahogany and one was swamp ash you really aren't going to hear a difference because of the...

Which would you buy? Jackson MJ Misha So-Cal or EBMM JP6 unloaded?

Glad I read all the way through to see you went with the JP. I only had experience with a Sterling JP, so not sure as far as neck profile how different they are from the American EBMM ones. But Was still a really nice guitar in the mystic dream finish. I probably would've went the same route you...

Pickup suggestions needed, but plenty of exclusions

You already mentioned bare knuckle. Gonna try to mention some that haven't been by anyone yet. Kiesel Tom Anderson Guitarmory Balaguer Schecter USA

Seymour Duncan alt.metal Blackouts (rebadged AHB3s?)

He did say his voice 1 was a very modified devin townsend sound. Never played it in person, but in demos I always thought it was the 2nd-3rd best sounding fishman bridge pup. Will Adlers voice 1 being number 1, the classic voice 2 hot-rodded tone probably being second just above Fluff's voice 1.

    ESP 2024

My first thought exactly. But that aside, it does look REALLY badass. If they brought this down into the LTD line up I'd 100% buy it.

    STL AmpHub Users Step Inside

Greetings! So I'm finally getting to a point where I'm close to having my home computer, audio interface, and getting my guitar put together. Given that I live in an apartment for me a plug in just makes the most sense to play. I've thought about trying several Neural DSP plug ins, mainly Plini...

    Fender Tom Delonge Starcaster

Meh for me. Just not a fan of the shape. Everything else i don't mind. But I'll stick to the strats.

Anyone Keep Going Back To EMG?

Nah it's a series of american solist guitars all EMG loaded. One model with floyds and another with a hardtail.

??? Story behind the EMG Alexi Laiho set?

I'm sure it has nothing to do with why he did it, but almost seems like he was going for multi-voice passive. Only difference is it's much more customizable. Never read up on this pick up until this thread. Interesting concept for sure.

    The Fishman Fluence Thread

Suppose to be but they sound nothing alike in any way in every demo/comparison I've ever heard of the 2. I've disliked every demo on them so much that I frankly would never buy em.

    The Fishman Fluence Thread

I can totally agree with your thought process. I myself am just not a fan of the other 2 voices on the Merrow's so having the hybrid single voice makes sense. The moderns aren't bad to me, just not good if you plan to play in tunings above Drop C as they're a bit to brightly voiced and lack the...

    The Fishman Fluence Thread

The Merrow's have been hit and miss in video demos for me. The guy that had the merrow set sounding the absolute best is Abel Perez, but he has the single voiced version that is in the KM3 Hybrids. And keith said those pickups were voiced slightly different than the multi-voice set in the artist...

Can i get a pickup recommendation?

It's a normal basswood/maple neck guitar so Lundgren's I'm sure would be fine in it. Probably a little more mid forward than Black winters if I had to guess. No idea if there's a difference between black winters and the blackened ones though. I'd say if you really like the BW's they can be a...
