    Maybe innovators like Becker existed precisely BECAUSE of the lack of generic, modern resources. Most of my students can't even tune a guitar by ear; when I was a kid, we had no choice.

    DI signal clipping??

    2021 here.. it's not just the focusrite that clips a DI guitar on the way in. I use a fireface 802 with Radial J48 DI box; same problem. I tried activating the box's -15db pad and making it up at the preamp input, but this changes the tone.
