    Bassist, recently acquired seven string guitar... Help!

    I recently acquired a Jackson seven string guitar, with a 26.5in scale. I'm wondering what string gauges would be best for this scale length, for standard low B tuning. I might experiment with drop G#/Ab tuning, as well. What string gauges are recommended for these tunings with this scale length?

    How different is a 28 5/8 scale from a 26.5 inch scale?

    Anyone know what gauges Jeff Loomis used on "This Godless Endeavor"

    I've heard he's gone between using 10-52+70 and 9-46+66 etc. I've always thought he was using 10-70 for this era but a 70 seems a lil heavy for Bb on a 26.5 inch scale. Anyone know for sure? I love the riffage on this record and this has been on my mind for quite some time.
