Well, where to start. Stuff like Devil Take the Hindmost or Home sound cool as hell but I'm pretty sure Allan is straying away from the orthdox I-II-III-IV etc. stuff. Can someone explain the voicings that he typically uses?

Hi Guys, Have been listening to a lot of Chimpspanner / Allan Holdsworth lately and noticed a similar sound in the way they solo - especially Supererrorgation / Bad Code on the Chimp Spanner album. Any idea what kinds of modes are being used for this fusion like sound? Am pretty familiar...

...get Allan Holdsworth's 'Wardenclyffe Tower' album. It features more use of his baritone guitars (tuned either A, Bb or C) than any of his other albums, and the lower register makes his chord-melodies sound soooooooo much richer. I really wish I had my Yamaha bari' here right now...
