5150iii or engl savage 120

I'm looking to buy another head. I already own an engl invader 150. I also own a 6505. I got 2 really good deals on a 5150iii and the savage 120. The 5150iii 100 was offered at $1100 in very good shape and the savage was offered at $2000. My band plays 8 string. Which amp would u go for? I'm thinking the savage would be better for the 8 string guitars. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks

I would go for the Savage. Keep in mind that in the US that's a good deal for an ENGL. EVH's there are plenty for that money. Just my opinion

Engl savage 120. At band volumes they sound killer.

I own an engl savage and it is by far the best amp ive played/owned. With my 7s it remains tight, and thats with no OD in front. Great deal to!

Savage for sure. It's a better deal on this side of the world, plus I've seen plenty of 5153 heads go for that much or less, so that deal will always be there if you ever change your mind.

Another vote for the Savage, it is a killer amp. The 5150iii has a very smooth distortion that is a little irritating.

I´m also interesred in the Savage 120 ? How do they compare at High Gain ?
My EVH 5150 50 Watt has a pretty raw Tone. I played the Savage 120 several Times but it´s too long ago to remember !
I do remember they sound a little different to a Power/Fireball !
