Decided to make the body a bit bigger overall, around 3/4" bigger than a 63 JR. Depending on final sanding, it should hover around 13.5-13.6" at the widest point.

Forgot to take many pictures the past few days, but anyway, going to glue in the neck on Monday. So close now.

This week was full of obnoxious setbacks and a massive lack of sleep. I've suffered from insomnia since I was a very young child and while I've learned to control it to a degree, I occasionally still have periods of being unable to sleep for 40-70+ hours at a time. Productivity levels completely disappear during those times. Blah.

But, I did get the acoustic mostly finished up, and the SG is pretty near the finishing stage now. Frets trimmed, neck glued in, bridge/stoppiece holes drilled. All that's left is routing the pickup cavities on monday, and it'll be ready for the spray shop :yesway:

Little bit of finish sanding left before I take it over to the spray shop.

Oh I guess I need to do up a pickguard too still.

I have some Dimarzio 'new 7' pickups that I'm going to take apart and rewind. The intended wind range is going to approximate Gibson's 490/498 pickups.

Gibson really needs to get a grip of on their superiority complex when someone appears to be making a better product than them.

Did the lawyers at least use lube?

What? No, it's unlikely that Gibson could give a shit less about my project. I can't proceed with anything because I have no more options available to me and have been forced to drop out of school. I won't have access to tools/machines/facilities, and have no way to make enough money to be able to afford my own.

It needs to be sprayed and the bridge posts installed, a nut made, electronics soldered, and a pickguard made. It's too bad really.

I was going to spray it white, with a satin nitro to hopefully come close to Gibson's 'worn white' finish like I had on an SG Special Faded awhile back.
