Iv'e now got the recommended guage of strings from Rondo's page on my Agile - and I have to say - they feel rather spongy on the B, E and A strings respectively - even with the action brought up to compensate. I also hit the strings pretty hard so the B and E are bouncing off the frets causing a little buzz.
It's also worth noting that at this tension, both truss rods are completely flat and appear to have no tension on them...
So, currently I have..
.009, .012, .015, .022, .030, .040, .054, .072
Would I have any problems jumping up to either -
.032 , .044 and .056 for B,E and A.
Or even -
.038, .048 and .058 from the Power Slinky 7 Set. Heck, I might even then go for a .074 on the low F#.
One more thing, when measuring scale length - do you go from behind the bridge, or the front of it to the end of the neck??
Appreciate anyone's comments and feedback as to what strings they use...
Cheers,
