Being a Guitar Center employee, I can tell you that the guitar was discounted because it's listed under the "Scratch and Dent" policy. Any damaged gear we obtain will be discounted, usually not a substantial discount and sold as another guitar. It's definitely the sales persons job to inform you of the damage or find out if they don't know themselves.

Sorry you wound up with something that wasn't completely kosher, but It was hopefully listed as scratch and dent. Glad your enjoying the guitar and got it all up and running again!

It wasn't haha. It was listed as holiday savings, but was cheaper than every other tele on the floor.
