Porcupine Tree - In Abstenia, Deadwing, Fear of a Blank Planet, The Incident and any of Steven Wilson's solo records...

Also, Thrice's "The Alchemy Index" is an amazing journey. Genesis also pumped out a great journey-esque album with Selling England by the Pound.

Although, almost any progressive rock/metal band usually aims to create an album experience beyond the "new 10 songs" syndrome.

Even though i can't understand them, Rammsteins albums really took me places, especially when i think they really found their sound and went for it...so

Morrissey's Your Arsenal is absolute magic to me. Most of my favorite tracks of his are from other albums. But Your Arsenal really delivers a dynamic. The ups and downs are perfect to me. Personally, I put a lot of emotional stock in some of the songs on this record, the content is really a departure from his well established and chronicled adolescence. The miserable acceptance of his adulthood really struck a nerve at a weird time in my life.

Lyrically, it is one of the best albums ever written. Musically, it sits just right.

Otherwise, cursive's the ugly organ sticks out.
And that last Paramore record was really good too.
