Aphex twin ambient releases are awesome.
+1I've got the "Selected Ambient Works II" album and I highly recommend it.
+2 that album is fantastic
I'll also say that while it's not ambient per sey Bola is some amazing electronica

Not familiar with any of the groups listed here, but how would it compare to, say, Boards of Canada? I've had "The Campfire Headphase" in pretty heavy apartment rotation of late...
