i play peavey vypyr and 6505. lookin for stephen carpenter sound

I have a vypyr too...if I remember correctly, my favorite metal setting is something very close to this (my vypyr is at home and I can't look at the exact LED positions right now):

amp: rec
pre: max
bass: 10:00
mid: 1:30
high: 12:00

Also, use the pitch shifter with both edit controls at 12:00...you get more bottom end and the sound becomes fuller. Sounds crazy, I know, but just trust me...once you try it, you'll wanna use it on your other patches.
