Yes, I bought another Carvin ST300.
They just work for me. I always go back to my Carvins, especially the STs as my main
go to guitars.

This time I ordered from the “guitars in stock” section.
First time I’ve ever done that.

Here’s the specs.
Deep Honeyburst Flame
Mahogany Neck & Body
Gold Hardware
Flamed Maple Headstock Matches Body Color
Floyd Rose Original (German made)
Floyd Rose Locking Nut
Abalone Dot Inlays
Rosewood Fingerboard
Stainless Jumbo Frets .055" H .110" W
14in Fretboard Radius
2 Single Coils, 1 C22B Bridge Pickup
Replace S60A Pickups with Black/Cream Twinblades
Cream coils with cream brezel on C22b
Cream/Black Coils on twin blades
Carvin guitar case

Fit and finish is excellent.
Nice action. No buzzing. Great feeling neck. Very light in weight. Very resonant. Probably the lightest of the bunch.
Rosewood board has a nice reddish tint to it. Goes very well with the burst finish. A lot nicer than just a plain brown board.

I have to get used to the middle twin blade being there. Just need to adjust my picking hand a touch.

Haven’t had much playing time to comment on the pickups yet. But, the little I did get to play it, they seem pretty decent. The twins I’m mainly talking about.
The C22b I have in another guitar already, and I like those.

This is my Christmas present from the wife. This guitar has been in the GIS for a couple months. I told the wife back then already it’ll be mine eventually. She kept telling me “you don’t need another guitar”. I just kept saying “yeah, but it’s calling my name and saying buy me!”
I put the GIS pic up as my computer background just to taunt her in hopes of breaking her down. See just kept saying no.
Finally last week she asked if I had finally picked something else for Christmas.
I said, since you won’t let me get the guitar, I’d get a V3m mini stack instead. Which I was ready to order.
She goes, “yeah, but you want the guitar more, don’t you?
I nodded yes. She goes “Well, just go ahead and get it then”.
My eyes went wide, and I went to the GIS section and ordered it.
The V3m will have to wait some other day.

When it came in, I did tell her I have to inspect it before the ten-day trial’s up. Make sure everything is in order. Which it is.
But, now she says it’s going back under the tree, and I don’t get to play it now till Christmas.

I can’t wait.

Here’s the pics.

Original GIS.

Thanks, guys!

The Yellow one was my very first Carvin.
She's going nowhere. :D

I'd whore myself for weeks for that blue carvin!!

That I found years ago at one of those Guitar Expo things where dealers get together, rent a hall, and sell their goods or show off their vintage collection.
Picked it up for $300.

The rosewood board is what really drew me to this one.
It has that reddish tint to it which I thought looked sweet.
Again, I thought it accented the finish very well.
A regular plain brown one, not so much.

Also, all my other Carvins are ebony. This is a nice change.

All my Carvins are slightly different from each other in their build.
That's what makes them sweet to play when I rotate them.
Each has it's own vibe.
But, with a touch of familiarity to not feel totally foreign.
