If you’re in the mood for classics Immolation’s Here in After flies under the radar when it should be put right alongside nespithe and obscura as peak 90s avant- dm

Quo Vadis are a really crazy (Tech) Death Band.

They are an exception to quite a lot of your regular TDM bands as they use a very progressive approach to the genre.

You'll find jazz interludes, drum patterns that would make Gene Hoglan proud and generally they feel very much like a successor band to Death.

Also they are probably the heaviest band to never tune down. They only play 6s on standard-E tuning.

The main riff in On The Shores of Ithaka is even played on d.

Only downside is that they are practically split-up and they only released three records.

But well, that is basically the requirement to be qualified as a TDM band anyways.

Shameless plug for my new EP. something in between technical and melodic death metal and a heavy dose of Boogie Mk IV.
I think every tech band I love has been mentioned already; but I always gravitate to Gorod, First Fragment, Augury, Vale of Pnath, Necrophagist, Inferi, Spawn of Possession, and Obscura off the top of my head.
