It was eerie. The highway was totally shut down, cops stopping people from getting onto the feeder roads.

I grew up in the town where Bush Sr.’s Presidential library is, and I never saw anything quite on this level when (former) presidents came to town.

My parents went to Omaha beach for the D-Day anniversary this year. My dad forgot to find out if they needed tickets and forgot to find out how close they were staying the night before, so as a result they woke up at 3am and were the first people there. Before all the security. They just parked on the beach until like 6am when some police spotted them and asked what the hell they were doing. Then they spent the next 4 hours trying to get out of the very secure area where several heads of states were going to be that they didn't even have tickets to be near and every road was closed for miles and they kept being turned back by various french and american police, military, secret service types. And they nearly ran out of diesel before they got past all the road blocks.

Anyone else notice a increase in Russian bots and FB notifications?

I deactivated my FB around the time of the whole Mike Brown incident (I could see where it was going even then lmao), and lately I've been getting notifications every night around midnight on my phone's notification bar. It just has the FB symbol and says connect with friends. I will admit I have IG (just to keep up with pedal builders and not for social) and I know that they are under the META umbrella, so I understand how they are doing it. I just think it's funny how the election is right around the corner and it seems like they are trying extra hard to vote fish lmao. I've never got these notifications before and it's funny as hell, but a little scary how they use it as a tool. Also it seems like every day since Joe stepped down I've been getting allot of bot followers on IG. I'm assuming it's some form of bots at least because it's some model with a crazy ass name with letters and numbers. I try not to look at their account because I know how the algorithm works and I don't want more of this kinda shit on my pedal feed.

I watched a documentary about the negative side of social media a couple years ago and it was saying that FB was going out of their way to remind right wing people to vote and upcoming vote dates while at the same time trying to distract and hide certain things from people who seem to be more leftist. Just felt the need to rant to my social media crowd lmao (SSO) . And for those who don't think SM is being weaponized against you and your family, wake the fuck up.

Is the app still installed on your phone? This sounds like a 'hey remember me?' type of nag. I dunno since I don't have IG installed, but I'm assuming if it's showing the FB icon that's likely coming from the FB application though I suppose they could have it set up for the IG app to shill for FB. If it's still there you probably have to uninstall / disable it in order to get it to shut up.
Can't comment on bots and the like since I don't touch any of that stuff but I certainly wouldn't be surprised. I never hopped onto any of 'the apps' from the get-go because it always just screamed bad intentions to me.

That's the crazy thing I haven't had FB installed on any of my phones for almost the last 10 years lmao. I've had IG for a few years now and I've never got FB notifications until Joe stepped down. That's what makes me think they are trying to bait. Fucking Cambridge Analytica!
