So do the alumitones like bass wood? I'm looking for a set of pickups to put in my RG1451 and the deathbucker in the bridge with a normal alumitones single coil and neck pickup seems like it would be cool for the porgy stuff I want to do.

I have used the drop and gains and found them to be very very good. They have a great chug and are very full yet not tubby or loose.

I've only used their singlecoils, but I had a set of Gold Lace Sensors in my strat for maybe 5-7 years. Good pickups - dead quiet, reasonably authentic sounding. I just got bored and wanted something with a little more glassy cut to them, so I swapped them out.
