What is the scale length? How many frets? Also, what height are the pickups at?I love the way the bridge one sound, you can hear a hint of 81 in it, and it's still tight at C#. I can't get the neck to not sound muddy though, I can get a good lead sound from it but rythm is no bueno. I'll tinker with it some more, but no success for far.

Fret the 24th fret and set them basically as close to the strings as possible without them touching in any way while the strings are vibrating, then adjust from there. The same rule of adjusting pickups applies here too, it's just that EMG's don't have the same magnetic pull as passives, so you can run them closer.I recently traded my Ibanez RGT6EXFX for a LTD F250 that came with HZ in them, and that was the first time I got my hands on those since 2005-07.

Also got a Jackson Rhoads (JS32l) as partof a trade, slapped a 85 in the bridge, single volume no tone. Which is absolutely fantastic and I wish EMG offered a 85/60 set.
I stand corrected.Gross. Do not do that. That is the reason EMGs have the bad reputation they have. Thanks, EMG. Why they'd print that in their literature and give people the impression they SHOULD be set like that is beyond me.

The 57 is HOT!! Lol.I have the 66 up close, then I back the 57 away until the volume is matched across all positions.
My opinion of my 57/66tws is ever evolving. For the better usually.

What I got was the super bright, detailed highs that everyone talks about. Holy crap!
Now I have to adjust the eq in my emg patches, dammit. Lol.
The jury is still out until i figure out the eq i need, but so far, I like them alot more now though.

I balance them in single modeis nowhere near as hot as the 81
The 57 is nowhere near as hot as the 81 or even the 89 in my experience. Just don’t slam it up against the strings.My opinion of my 57/66tws is ever evolving. For the better usually.
