I used to have a tutorial on extracting parts of a movie using Quicktime and then popping them into GIMP to turn into GIFS but I've lost it.

Can anyone explain it to me? Or does anyone know where I can find another tutorial.

I wouldn't know.

Lol, just kiddin'.

I use a program called SnagIt. It captures a video and divides each frame into images. Then you save the images manually (I do every other or third frame). Its very tedious I know, but I don't know any other way. I save them all into a folder, then import folder as frames with Adobe ImageReady. Then Save Optimized As :).
