I've played it. I have all the 3rd edition rulebooks right here beside me. 
I'm looking forward to this release as there are some aspects of the last edition I didn't like.

Wait! I thought D&D was Drunkards and Dragqueens!
I played 2nd ed back in the day... but when 3rd edition came out, I gave up on it. Tried it, but didn't like the new systems rules compared to 2nd ed. So I stopped.
Haven't looked back since. (And my time playing D&D has now been replaced with Halo 2 and FarCry)

I've only played it once, and I'll never play it again. I'm a music nerd and thats all I am. I still don't have a life though...
They still make it ;p 10th Edition just came out a month or 3 ago.
One of my friends has D&D First edition books from his dad. Crazy shit.
I had to go to do those games a few times, and i always took them entirely way less seriously than everyone else there. hehe.
