so its my birthday and and I call up my band mates seeing if they wanna hang and what not. They said come to the practice space, so I did. When I get there I immediately see the downed HUGE tree that loomed over the house next to our practice space.
instantly my heart dropped and my mind became all sorts of fucked.
I got there to see this

we got all the equipment out and all that was mesed up were the sliders on my 10 band EQ which are still functional.I had heard of the storms gettin more and more brutal but didn't expect for my 2nd home to be murdered.
As the day went on me and my lead guitarist and our manager/couch jocky went to logans roadhouse to eat for my b-day where golf ball sized hail began to fall as we began to finish eating.we waited it out and began our journey to my house where the rain worsened, winds were ridiculous, and road blocks were everywhere.2 sets of Dodge charger police cars(about 5 to a set) kept blasting past us.Almost home and we all of a sudden see a tree falling and we dodge it with some cat like reflexes in my driving skill and then we slow down to 30mph to take a breather as we got to my house.

that, was my birthday.
and it was fuckin fun and sad at the same time.

Sucks man. Glad everything is good. And be CAREFUL down there. Or at least watch the weather channels. I live in Colorado and I was glued to them watching the south get annihilated today. Over 100 tornadoes reported, over 64 confirmed deaths, and the systems aren't over still. Glad nothing was damaged except the building, A LOT of people aren't as lucky as you guys where today.

Yeah. Last I checked it was up to 74 confirmed deaths. I know it easily in the 100's though. The weather is still going on so they can't start search and rescue until tomorrow most likely. Sad stuff.

Happy birthday though. Shit may have happened but it could have been worse. Move to the north! It is just cold up here. haha A lot less of that tornado, tree knocking over stuff.

Okay, yeah, it's great the gear is okay, but to go a bit further...

Dude, you're still alive, as are the members of your band. You weren't in the space, and nothing dropped on any of you.

Any day from here out is gravy, my friend.

Sorry for your troubles, but glad to see noone was injured and there was no damage to gear. Rather amazing set of circumstances, really.

Here's a photo one of my cousins who lives relatively near you (KY) took of the hail you describe:

Hail gets much bigger than that on occasion. Baseball sized is not unrealistic.
The one in the pic is perfectly capable of killing anyone as is.

Back when I was in Jr. High, my hometown was hit by a hail storm that the Red Cross designated as a disaster area. We had them coming through roofs of houses and destroying anything in their path. We watched a brand new riding lawn mower get beat into a pile of junk by baseball sized hail. We saved two we managed to find after it stopped that were damn near softball sized. It was completely crazy to watch. Glad you're alright and your gear is good to go. Nature can be a twat sometimes lol.
