Bass amp

You know how people say you shouldn't play your bass guitar on a guitar amp (is true?)- well these downtuned guitars are really bassy - would it damage your guitar amp the same way?

I'm going to try to play my drop A tuned Tele on my practice bass amp tonight.

People say a lot of things. I play bass through guitar amps all the time with no problem, just have to be careful with it.

Just an update. so i tried it. I mean I've done it before but not with extended range guitar.

I have my downtuned Tele, a metal distortion pedal (biyang metal-end) and then my Ampeg solid state 20 watt practice amp. It was deep and powerful for the low notes! Awesome. The high notes and mid range power chords were a little fake sounding. Still useable.
