Got any samples of your music?

Hey there :) , Well, as you can see the post is pretty old, before summer i was planning to start a band (metalcore) but I havent found people yet, ... so no samples yet, except a guitar cover of my own but thats useless..
I want to start a band with a similar vibe to Bury Tomorrow, Bullet For My Valentine, Escape The Fate, Five Finger Death Punch, Crown The Empire, etc etc,..
melodic, yet heavy, with breakdowns, but melodic singing & leads ... both clean singing and screams, .. hope that kind of clarifies the style im looking for :metal:

i see you also have a 7 and an 8 string.. If you're into Djent, we can do that too, I have a Jackson Js32-8q (8 string) , your gear seems a lot better than mine, but im planning on getting a new amp soon, and my next purchases will be the focusrite studio bundle and a POD HD500X

Good choices :) Definitely get that POD! I don't have a single amp though, because I'm mostly a studio artist/composer. I was hoping to hear how your style is and see if we could have a match...

I'm gonna post a few work-in-progress samples tomorrow, if you're interested :) I have a soundcloud but there isn't a lot of relevant metal in there but my influences are all present. https://soundcloud.com/headshock-1

take a listen to this one, this is most of my style though I can go really heavy as well :) https://soundcloud.com/headshock-1/something-happy-unfinished

Whoa , awesome! I'm also interested in doing studio stuff, and mostly mixing, but ive also already experimented with fruity loops and stuff like that...(My brother is a beginner dj/producer, works with ableton, and made me want to buy a novation miniNova myself in the future) these things could come in handy for post-hardcore stuff too :p I have a soundcloud as well, but I've only uploaded 2 little riffs(Dont even remember how I recorded them.. i think i used a behringer interface that i found in a drawer..), quite a while ago(1 year ago according to soundcloud), and i do not even know a lot of music theory yet, i just went by feeling, (i know note names and what intervals are etc etc, but i cant play anything more than the C pentatonic from the 5th fret in E standard ... im in first year of univeristy now, after i get my car (and driving license) ill spend more money on proper gear (cant do a thing with this fender frontman 15G), and I already have a music theory book i've read once but need to look over again, and also need to start practicing scales and stuff. (pretty sad since i've been playing for almost 5 years)

Anyway, here's my soundcloud and the two riffs i randomly decided to record: https://soundcloud.com/laurensg-1

god how proud I was about that "Riff 7" thingy with the 2-guitar harmony, hahahah ... back then i did it all with audacity too.. but the focusrite studio bundle comes with a started edition of cubase

And while I'm at it, here's my only cover I ever uploaded to youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YioA6mgfTcU (also a year ago now)

I have a feeling your level/skill/knowledge is quite a bit above mine though.. probably not ideal for you .. but i'd be perfectly happy with just rhythm guitar, .. I could probably learn a lot from you :p

Heh, I use FL Studio for all my works, and I never actively "studied" music theory. I'm all for going by feeling :) I play guitar for like... 10 years, but due to circumstances I haven't been able to play my guitars nonstop for the past 2 years like I used to. Lost a lot finger memory...

Yeah having that first "eureka" moment when you invent one of your first 2-harmony riff is an awesome feeling :) I experimented with quadruple harmonics at one point (if I were a band to play that I'd need 4 guitarists rofl)

I got some old stuff up on a hidden playlist if you wanna take a listen: https://soundcloud.com/headshock-1/sets/metal-tests/s-cdfSQ

My most recent work is that "flacer" one, I wrote that riff on my RGA8 like a week ago, and this recording was a messy quadtrack to hear how the lower harmony riff sounds after the first repitition. Most of the others are done on my Schecter C-7

Also nevermind most of those titles, I just write whatever comes up in my head when I have to save a project file :)
