Best guitar for the value

1000+ - when you're talking over a grand, "best value" is kind of a stretch, butI've heard a lot tolike about the JP7.

Silly Ibby fanboys! I personally don't mind Ibby guitars (80% of my 7's in the past were Ibanez) but for overall quality there are a few brands I would look at first before I considered Ibanez IMHO. Custom-shop quality (even if it's not a "true" custom shop) is great at Carvin, so if you can find a used one in good shape, that might be a good bet! I scored mine pretty cheap used and it turned out to be a great deal once I tossed in a JB-7!

Conklins GTG7T's can be had for 250-325$ most often. i only paid 320$ for mine, and i've seen several go on ebay fo 250-280.

B) My Ibanez RG350DX, awesome guitar, wizard II neck, Edge III (which is reasonable for 430$) if only it was made in Korea or Japan instead of Indonesia...

A.) 400 and below (the older Agile Interceptors. you just can not beat this guitar for the money, dimarzio blaze p/u's ebony f/b, grover tuners "27 scale)

B.) 400-700 dollars (although i'm not a fan i'd have to say all the Schecters in this price range are hard to beat)

c.) 700-1000 dollars (Schecter again gets my vote here with the loomis model)

d.) 1000 bucks and above. (Carvin all the way! their guitars are second to none in any price range. i've played custom shop ESPs, B.C. Richs, etc. and own a custom shop Jackson 7, and my carvins stomp all over them for a lot less money)
