It appears Becky, Bill's wife has stated "we just completed a short run of 7 string L-500's due to popular demand, and they're ready to ship!" A 7 string version of the L-500XL for the bridge and the L-500R for the neck would be interesting to hear for a 7 string. Who is going to be the 1st? Cannont be me, no longer have a 7 string.

Wow, that's surprising. They've said again and again "No."

Be interesting to hear, but I'm pretty content with my Dimarzios. I might be getting a backup Ibanez 7, maybe then, if the price isn't too bad. of course, I'm jonesing for some PAF7s, so...

I loved the 6-string versions to bits. I had a set in an old charvel I used to own and they screamed!:hbang: The 7-string version will probably sound just as killer.

Shit, HOW MUCH?!?!?!

I sent Becky an email to ask, and to find out which variants (L-500, L-500L, L-500XL, etc.) will be available.

Wasn't the L-500XL the Dimebag pup of choice?

Correct, and it's the one people usually think of, but they make several variants.

You better call as they are very busy and often don't get to emails, and also have a very strict SPAM filter which really only allows paypal payments through.

IIRC, he tried just about every variant, before settling on the XL (the one in the Dean from Hell). That man had an army of Deans that you really only see in the old glam period pictures.

I just did the same thing. If there is a L-500xl for a seven string , my passive pickup search is over. I've loved the sound of that since I've started playing guitar.
