Blaze custom or Evo7

Speaks for itself. Which would u recommend as a good bridge pup for metal and vai/satch stuff? its going into an RG7620, replacing the TZ7 (not enough cutting power).

According to the dimarzio website, these pickups look pretty similar in sound. I'd rather some first hand experience tho. cheers.

Evo 7. Have one in my 7420 and it's killer. Because it's high out ouput, it respnds well to the guitars volume knob-giving you that much more control.

I've both an Evo7 and a Blaze Custom, and I have to say the Evo7 sounds a lot better.

Evo7. Definately. Swapped the evo into an axe that had a blaze custom, and the evo is clearer, more defined and more, well, it's just a more in your face sound, with no fuzzy bits in the low end.

I like the EVO7 personally (basswood) for metal. But Vai chose Blazes for universes, and you want more cutting power, so something in between would actually be the Blaze Custom's territory. That might be the sound youre after.
