Borderline and using guitar to cope?

"We are born alone and we die alone" someone once said, but we don't have to be alone in between. You are luckier than many. If you can communicate via web in a guitar forum, you belong to the 10% of human population most privileged people. If you can ear music, you're on top of the world and more so if you can make it as well. If all your senses are ok, you can appreciate all there is in the air, food, touch, etc. Be marveled by your senses, not depressed by your mind...? cherish the little things...

Seeing a therapist will definitely help if you find the right one. DBT has shown to be the most effective therapy for BPD. One positive thing about BPD is that it tends to improve the older you get, which is unlike many other diagnoses. As far as guitar goes, it can be a great outlet. Don't worry about comparing yourself to others, just set realistic goals and compare yourself to how you were yesterday.
