Couple Valvulator questions

Question 1: What is a good replacement tube for the Valvulator?

Question 2: Should I put the Valvulator before or after my Decimator Pro Rack G's 2nd channel? I'm assuming after but I just want to be sure.

Wouldn't it be smartest to always put the gate last (closest to the amp) to get rid of the noise? Since the Valvulator boosts the signal it will produce noise.

Sovtek 12AX7WB will be a good replacement tube, since thats the same as the original.

Yeah I've never used a noise gate before I guess I've never known it's exact place in a loop. Help is greatly appreciated.

Right now I have the first channel guitar > ISP > OD > AMP input.

What does the Valvulator do for your tone?

It's a tube-driven buffer for your effects loop. It eliminates any tone suckage, improves dynamics etc.
