I'm surprised no one's mentioned A Perfect Circle's cover of Failure's The Nurse Who Loved Me. I like the original lyrically, so adding Maynard to the mix blew my mind.

Also, I hope I don't get flamed for this one but Glass Cloud's cover of Tears For Fears Everybody Wants To Rule The World, it's basically a carbon copy of the original (I love Tears For Fears because I'm a goth at heart, I guess) but the cover adds a modern flair and a bit of 'oomph', the mathy drumming is a brilliant addition too. The chaotic pitchshifted breakdown may strike some as unnecessary but it grew on me a lot.

Moonsorrow- For Whom the Bell Tolls

I'll be honest, it got really boring for me

LOL....I couldn't make it through 2 bars of the chorus of the Killswitch remake. Talented guys, but just didn't like what they did with it.

I thought it was pretty cool until they got to "between the velvet lies"
To be fair, its pretty much impossible to stack up the the Mighty Dio and Vivian Campbell

Bodom cover of Lookin' Out My Back Door

It was pretty fun, but I'm still going to have to give the edge to CCR, I love me some John Fogerty.

The original doesn't even sound like a Beatles song to me. I prefer this one

I also like this way more than the original

My last one for now

Edit: I lied, one more

I'm sure it's been said, but.... Alien Ant Farm's "Smooth Criminal" was not only better than the original, but just pretty awesome period.

So yeah, you should relisten to those albums! And post that cover when it's recorded imo.

Certainly not intending to claim that our version is better than the original, but I wanted to bump this thread just to let you know that wasn't empty talk. I threw together some drums and bass tonight, so here's a little sample.
