Crack/problem behind an Ibanez Rg 7620's nut

Hi! I bought this guitar two months ago, i didn't have the time to setup it up but yesterday I started to. Well everything was fine except the nut the previous owner had it this way:

I took out the nut and it looks like this:

Is it... broken?
