Here is my custom isolation cab that I had built for my home studio!
Materials: outside to inside
5/8" Baltic Birch plywood
1lb/sqIn MLV sound board
5/8" soundproofing drywall
2lb/sqIn MLV sound board
3/4" Baltic Birch plywood
All layers secure with green glue. Speaker baffle is fully floating as well.
With a 100 Bogner amp running through a single Celestion V30 at full volume:
Lid off - 106dB
Lid on - 90 dB
This thing is built like a damn tank, but also weighs about the same as a tank too.
Going to be adding 1" pyramid acoustic foam to entire inside of the cab and lid soon to help with reflections as well.
