I've been wanting to get a seven in the near future when I can afford it. I've been wanting one for ages. I was wondering who would be the best for a custom 7 string?

Any help is appreciated thank you for your time :hbang:

If you want to keep the prices down you could always go Carvin

Honestly if I had unlimited funds as it stands right now it would be a tie between Daemoness guitars and Bernie Rico Jr. There quite a few threads on here in regards to both builders.

I haven't had any negative experiance with any of these shops so
I just included any that I could think of.
I forgot about Oni and BlackMachine too.

Forgot Blackmachine, though I don't think he's back to taking orders yet. I have my reasons for excluding the shops I did :2c:

Even if I had the money I wouldn't go with Blackmachine. Unless they had a reasonable wait time. Last I hear he had a 2 year wait list. Or was it 3 ?

Why no love for strictly 7? Because thy don't have a very long track record, or do you know something in particular about them?

I'm actually very interested in Strictly 7.
Jim pm'ed me a while back out of the blue, very nice and
seemingly very eager to please his customers.:agreed:

^ I've just ordered a custom multiscale with Ormsby. Good choice of woods and great craftsmanship. Had the pleasure of playing several different customs of his today.

Dmoness Guitars - Lutherie Infernus
KXK Guitars - Custom Made in the USA
Bernie Rico Jr. Online Connect With & Follow The Master Guitar Builder

Since I'm a KxK whore I'll post more info about them... they offer three different carve top options on their superstrat-style Sii-7s

carve 2:

There are a lot more Sii-7 pics here Sii-7 7 String

They also offer a couple of different V designs if that's your thing as well as a double cut and single cut 7

the DCii-7 is identical to this with one more string

custom inlay work is also not a problem... this is a 12th fret inlay on one of my upcoming guitars

and this is a full custom fretboard design we're working on for something else of mine

and this a board in progress for a guitar for somebody else... the finish on the guitar is somewhat like the PRS Di Meola Prism
