Dear friends,

Today I launch my solo music project, the Constructivist!
Being a fan of heavy metal music and a guitar player I was always fascinated by this very powerful form of expression. I eventually consider that I exist musically at a level sufficient to express systematically myself through the music I make. My focus is modern death metal, what I consider to be a very dynamic and intellectual sub-genre of heavy me(n)tal music.

Eventually that is what comes from within.

I record all of the instruments at my small “home studio”. It’s also me in the vocals. I am a full time PhD candidate and not a musician so creative criticism is always welcome.

I will regularly upload my songs in Bandcamp:
https://theconstructivist.bandcamp.com/
They are free to download.

Check me also out on facebook:

Stay tuned. This is the Constructivist!

Good stuff there! Not really my genre but it is really really nice. It is more rock than metal, but it has lots of potential.
Absolutely dig it.

Thanks a lot man!
I struggle to get a good guitar sound that inspires me. I Always find myself being driven musically from the qualities of the sound I have. The new song that I will upoload in a few days though is metal all the way.
Looking something to replace my Tubemesiter 5 now.

I think it sounds pretty damn good man. Your vocals remind me of Mors Principium Est. Also I like the leads you have in there, good melodeath.

Thanks a lot man. Mors Principium Est! That's quite a complement. I consider this singer one of the best in death metal vocals, he is very technical still expressive. This band really kicks ass.

Cool stuff man, i thought more In Flames when listening to the vocals.

I think the clean vocals need a little more presence though.

Indeed... i am still strugling with the clean vocals chain. Eventually I will get there. Now I use an Rhode NT2 through an EZ mix preset. i add compression and reverb but still sounds a bit muddy. What is a typical clean vocal chain for a metal song?

Sounds good man! Those harsh vocals sound sick, you seem to have a really good vocal "attack" if that makes sense. Great pronunciation. Reminds me of In Flames and Allegaeon.

Thanks a lot man! Every weekend I drive to my fiance. That takes place a year now. So during this year I am practicing vocals in my car while driving. There is always immense traffic around Amsterdam so for quite some time I just wait in the car not moving at all.

If you could see the expressions of pleople watchimg me practice vocals.
There are people that dig it and people that almost get offended. Its so funny... But I got to practice somewhere man....

The car is awesome practice place by the way... very little reflection of sound
