What exactly are you using to record this? I'm sure we can get it to sound much better than this! :agreed:

Dean Vendetta 7, POD 2.0, Cubase 5, and EZdrummer.

I think the problem is with my Dean's pickups because with the same exact set up on my POD on my 6 strings, it sounds great.

If you are using the stock pickups in that Dean, it is very possible that a large part of the tone problem is there. However, you should try and tweak the tone to optimize it anyway. Often times POD settings optimized on one guitar can sound like total balls on another. You probably won't get anything incredible out of the Dean, but you could probably get it better.

Your tone is incredibly muddy and sort of boxed-in sounding. Don't be afraid to constantly keep tweaking your Pod. You may not have the best pups ever in your Dean, but you can get something very decent sounding with a Pod.

What The Reverend here said... you can get pretty sweet tones out of a Pod (I gave up and moved to the Axe FX...) but at least better then you have here. Definitely a lot you can work with! Keep trying, practice makes perfect!
