Has anyone used the Dimarzio Illuminator bridge pickup? How does it sound. A used one has come up on a local guitar group at a really group price. And wondering how it is, especially with hi gain and low tunings. I'm currently using a Dimarzio D Sonic. But keen to swap it out and try an Illuminator in my Ibanez MMM1 Baritone. Thanks in advance for any feedback

It's a good pickup. Quite bright, and works really well in dark, downtuned guitars.

It's one of my favorites.. I had one in a Schecter that I have now sold. Just a good overall pickup .. nice crunch, good tone.. not crazy over the top like some of these other pickups (Nazgul etc) I had the neck too which sounded pretty similar to a liquifire. Good versatile set. Sounded great in any tuning

I have them in a JP15, and I love them. They sound good for both leads and big complex chords. It's probably the brightest of the Petrucci Signature pickups.

The clarity is good, and they have a wide, even sound to them. If you play a big chord, it is a very satisfying sound. They are quite hot. They do not have the same low mid grunt of the crunch lab set. They do have a good attack for riff heavy stuff. Honestly, these are very good all around pickups for heavy music.

Thanks for the reply. They sound like quite a good pickup. Think I'm definitely gonna consider them
