I got a new EBMM JPXI 7-string just recently and I've noticed that strange metallic noise coming from the bridge while muting out the string immediately after hitting. I've recorded both with distorted patch (it's audible with a high gain sound) and unplugged.
this is not a problem with the noisegate, my JPX 6-string does something similar but in a radically smaller scale, and it doesn't pertrude at high volumes.
also it is not a noise-gate thing.

well f**k me.

a combination of scrunchie behind the nut and bondage-taping the springs in tremolo did the trick.

thanks a lot guys.

I made a velcro/band and I just placed that on the strings behind the nut. Had the same issue with mine but it's an easy and reversible fix. The Tremolo Springs never gave me too much trouble though, nothing that ended up resonating that bad.

The worst I had on my JPXI-7 was when the Crunchlab screw wasn't screwed in all the way, so when I played certain notes it would shake the screw and the pickup and it was horrid. Bothered me for a week before I checked everything about the guitar

Glad you got it fixed! Enjoy that thing man, they're amazing.

I just got a JPX-7 and it does a similar feedback-sounding noise (very much like 0:01-0:02 in your clip), but only after I palm mute an open A. It's weird. It's unlike any other Petrucci I've had. I just noticed it last night, so I guess I have some dampening to do.

I had the same issue, except the saddles springs were too short and were vibrating. Glad you got it sorted!
