dude with 1200 you can get a bitchin guitar from just about any where. from what you have suggested id go with a jackson/esp/ibanez. these would be my top three pics
Jackson RR5 (Pro Series RR5 Randy Rhoads, Black, Gold Hardware)
you could probably score one of these for about 900 used and then put in emg's in it when ever you want. honestly i bet you'll really like the sound of the pups in it. anyway this would be my first choice.
my second choice would be this
Ibanez MTM1 Mick Thomson Electric Guitar
this guitar is super super bad ass. im going to get one of these at some point. deffinatly. and my third choice would be that esp eclipse. ive heard nothing but good about esp's higher end model guitars. and that looks bad ass.

you can find the mtm1 on ebay for 1000. you wouldn't need to do anything to it. it has either emg's or duncan black outs, fixed double locking bridge and it's about as thin as it gets.
