Emg bass pickups in guitars?

I noticed that in a darker wood guitar that pickups that have a higher resonant peak sound better. Well emg bass pickups have resonance peaks at around 1500(on the ones I looked at). Has anyone tried these in a 7?

I have EMGHZ 40 waiting to be put on my 8 string. Mike Sherman said that they are great pickups.
