Seriously? No one is going to respond to this?

I greatly enjoy Eric Whitacre and the new school of choral composing. Whitacre definitely has a sense of imagination that evokes crisp imagery within the mind, directly opposing the intentional ambiguity of most contemporary choral works.

I have his with the BYU Singers and the fantastic Polyphony choir. I love "Sleep" and "Water Night", but my absolute favourites are "Cloudburst" and "Leonardo Dreams of his Flying Machine".

Whitacre is someone who makes the constant divisi between voices interesting.

His chord progressions are great. "Cloudburst" and "Sleep" are also favorites of mine, too.

Also, our band is performing this piece for the 2010 UIL contest!

Wow. Never expected to find anybody that knows Whitacre on here...
I've played this song in band once, and did "When David Heard" in choral.
Needless to say, all his music has a warm fuzzy spot in my heart.
Thanks for the memory ride.

Dude, I LOVE Eric Whitacre. I had to do one of his songs "Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine" for an All-State audition this year.
Great composer, who would've thought an Eric Whitacre thread would be started on ss.org . :D
