so i recently sold a prs usa custom 24 piezo, and i want to get a made in america or made in japan guitar by jackson or musicman, budget shouldnt really a be a problem right now.
for music man i thought about either the majesty or jp15.
for jackson i thought about the phill collen signature model or chris broderick signature soloist, or a soloist or a dinky or a kelly.
would like to hear from others expirience mainly about playabillity, and neck feel, and how the guitar sits on the leg (i got no problems with a kelly on my leg, so i guess it aint gonna be an issue with all guitars)

I feel like if you aren't sure between two really different guitars you should just try both, because all the online comments in the world aren't going to figure out what you really want if you can't either.

Budget doesn't seem to be a concern, so buy both and sell the one you like least, or do the more fun thing and keep both.

Tbh I don't think I've ever been interested in anything ebmm makes. Petruccis Ibanez RGs were way cooler. All of their designs are just meh. I'd rather have a KV or RR or Kelly or Soloist or Dinky over any Ernie Ball.

the issue is there aint any high end jackson in my country, the only ones i tried were jackson Pro Series King V – 3 Tone SunBurst, and pro plus series soloist sl3, and theres currently no jp15 in my country, only majesties, but ordering a jp15 from the retailers here costs as much as the jp15

honestly i like the looks of the jp15 over his ibanez rgs, i really llike the music man finishes and got no issues with their shapes or headstocks, the jackson headstock is kinda my favorite headstock tho

I'd go for a USA Jackson. Nothing looks classier than a black RR1 with those little gold pinstripes on the bevels.

@shalev98732 One thing that you seem to not take into concideration is the neck shape and thickness and fretboard radius. The guitars you mentioned are all over the place. PRS is like 10-11",JP is 17(i swear there was one JP model with 20"), Jackson is usually compound 12-16. Maybe you should concider ESP, which are like (better haha) Jackson with flat 12 radius will be closest to PRS.

It puts us in a tough spot with such a wide open question, because it will basically come down to what our favorite is without more stringent requirements. Me personally, I think the JP16 is one of the most comfortable guitars you could buy, and the Majesty is great too. I don't care too much for Jackson, but as can be seen they are popular too. All the options you listed are great guitars though.

Maybe buy the one that you like the looks of the best? You'll have to look at this thing a lot and it should make you feel good to see it. Looks matter.

The feel is going to be very different.

Personally, I won't buy a trem-equipped guitar unless it's a Floyd.

However, if you don't care about that a EBMM is going to feel pretty different to a Jackson. Mostly due to fretboard radius. I also have no use for the piezo system so it's just added cost.

In terms of construction a JP/Majesty will blow the pants off of most Pro Series Jacksons. However, the Concept Series or USA stuff from Jackson is comparable.

If you can't get your hands on a USA Jackson, then stuff made in Japan or Korea is very good as well. If it's Indonesian you need to play the game of ordering one seeing if it has issues, and sending it back. The same as any Indonesian-built guitar (there are only like 4 factories and all the brands are built there).

I have not tried any high end Jackson guitars. The RR1 looks really sick though. They are just not that common brand in my country.

But of all the guitars I've had, the JP6 is my all time favourite guitar and I use it 90% of the time I pick up a guitar. It has a comfortable shape, the neck is thin and balanced feeling. It sounds really good and the tremolo is nice (I'm n hard tail guy). Overall great quality feeling.

I've owned a cheap MIJ KE3 and a couple of RG550. The necks felt very flat for my taste. They are slim and fast. The JP6 is also very slim but it has a rounder C profile which I enjoy more .

There are so many guitars I'd like to own, but I do think that my next one might be a JP15 or simular in addition to the JP6 that I've owned for a couple of years now.

You really want to try them out to see, but if you don’t have any Jacksons around try the pro line. It’s a reasonable approximation to the higher end instruments in feel.

That being said I’ve never played a bad music man. After being setup to taste nothing really plays better in my opinion. I would buy a new one any day.

Neckwise it depends on the music man. Most Jacksons are very similar to eachother, but neck through will be a bit thicker neck than their bolt ons. They’re flatter shaped kinda between a charvel and Ibanez.

Music man between the jp and majesty, the jp will be a bit rounder in shape where the majesty is flatter. Same with the body. The jp is more standard but the majesty is thinner.

But please play them to make sure, or make sure you can return if you don’t like what you get.

I'll echo the "play them both first" sentiment, but I'll say Music Men have the absolute most comfortable necks I've ever laid hands on. If it were me I'd go that way, but trying each would be your best bet.
