Hey, I am a sucker for flame tops in a denim / blue jean finish.

This finish seems to come out pretty randomly and there are a lot of variation between models of the same brand with supposedly the same finish name but I love them!

I've started a small collection of denim finished guitars:
  • Carvin CT6 faded blue denim
  • PRS blue denim with smokeburst
  • Suhr Pro S6 trans blue denim

Wow, looks really cool ! Now you need a Caparison angelus to complete the collection.

All of them look stunning. How do they compare?

Does quilted & brighter blue count?

Ah ah, that's a great question, I'd said quilt counts of course but a denim finish has got some brown/orange and different shades of blue and some kind of burst in it so pure blue doesn't count

I just got the Carvin CT6 back so I need to play it more to compare.

The PRS and Suhr are very very different.

The PRS has a fuller sound and is less shred oriented, better suited for blue/jazz/rock with its mahogany+rosewood neck while the Suhr S6 has a brighter all maple neck, taller frets, much more suited for technical styles and that floyd rose gives a much different feel too.

Love the finish on the Suhr. Not a big fan of traditionally shaped strats, but that one looks fantastic. Also dig that it's got a floyd. Definitely a different breed from the fenders I've played.

Holy shit, never seen a faded blue PRS with the smokeburst edges. That looks amazing.

I always love when that Carvin gets posted

If I ever got a CT, I'd most likely have them do a similar finish lol

Love those PRS-y Carvins more than actual PRS guitars . Nice bunch!

I am also a sucker for that particular finish, especially when accompanied by burst edges. All 3 are gorgeous examples. An old friend had a PRS CE22 in the faded denim. It was a wonderful playing guitar. I've been jonesing for one ever since...

I both love you and hate you at the same time

Awesome collection. If I like my CT4 (gonna be a couple months before I get it) I might order a CT6 and I just might like that color!
